When and Where does it come into effect?
On the 1st July 2006, the RoHS Directive became effective to ban the introduction to the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of 6 hazardous materials.
Which 6 hazardous materials?
Lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.

How does WECL react to the new Directive?
WECL will do our best to offer products and components conformed to this Directive. However, during this transitional period, there are both RoHS compliant and non-compliant products existing in our catalogue. So we will distinguish them with special icons for the convenience of our customers:
